  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, celery, and carrots and cook 4 minutes, or until onions are translucent. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds more. Add in the chicken breast, seasonings, and broth. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Make the dumplings by whisking together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Toss butter into the dry ingredients. Use a fork or a pastry blender to cut butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbles. Add the milk and stir until the dough comes together. Do not over mix. Drop the dumplings by the spoonful into the soup. Cover and let simmer 15 minutes.
